The Character of a Sound Christian: Mark Eight
The Character of a Sound Christian in 17 Marks by Thomas Hooker .
Mark Eight: If you delight to speak to God in your praises, and that God should speak to you in His Word.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
To Hooker's chosen verses I would add:
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
