It's a record

Yesterday's snow set a record for the earliest measurable snowfall, logging in at 0.3 inches. The previous record was set on October 18, 1989 with 0.7 inches. This morning's Northwest Herald answers the pressing question: How did this happen?--"moisture and cold temperatures. "
