5 Days Old

This picture is for Sue's grandson. I took this picture this afternoon. The babies are 5 days old today. The Mama is away from the nest a lot more with these babies than with the first clutch.

I didn't get a very good snap this time because she was swooping and squawking and I started giggling.

Sue's grandson: if you double click the picture, you can see the feathers beginning to show. See how red they are? For a long time this afternoon, she was away from the nest and a sunbeam was shining right down on the nest. I wonder if they have a sunburn.
